Did you watch the programme on TV last night on Money?
An interesting look into how people sign up to and pay hundreds of pounds to learn how to become rich by a varying cross mix of motivational speakers and self taught "Money" gurus...
How; if you literally rub your ears every morning, chant "I am an excellent money manager" and have a certain mindset you will surely earn the money that dreams are made of. Being able to set goals such as I will have made X millions in 3 years/ 4 years and this will be achieved by buying property or investing in stocks and shares... Can this really be there case?
Now I am not judging these speakers, gurus..whatever they are... crikey they have worked something right and are living the good life, but when they inspire people to part with their money and often these fees that are paid to attend these seminars are from people who need to borrow that money in the first to place. Shouldn't there be responsibility or some sort of ownership that the money guru has to take on board and be open, honest and transparent that this MAY not work for them and they shouldn't borrow that money or use those savings for this quite expensive option?
The funny thing was that when the interviewer asked one of the Money gurus, do you like to spend money? He replied "No", I don't like to shop and don't know how to spend it".... this was quite ironic since he was wearing an expensive Gucci belt around his waist... Clearly showing where he spends those fees he has made from the savings of others...
In this rat race will all live; there will be lots of these types of people out there who can show you the quick and easy way to make money; with their hand clapping and pearly white teeth but as with everything, take a step back and think... is this for me, will this really make me happy and content and does this really matter?
True happiness as WE ALL KNOW doesn't come from money itself, it comes from in my opinion; caring for those around you with sharing your TIME, calling those you love/care for and saying "Hello...How are you? and letting people know you are there for them in all times.
T.
